Tapestry Level II: Focus on Shapes
Over the course of 5 weeks, students will master the art of creating clear, elegant shapes in woven artwork. This intensive will give students time to practice weaving essential shapes, with a focus on rectangles, circles, and triangles as the building blocks of most other shapes. This course is taught workshop-style, with instruction at the beginning on choosing colour, colour blending, design, and review of shape techniques. Students will create a design for their project on the first day, then the instructor will be available throughout the course to answer questions and help students bring their design to life. Students must be able to warp a loom and plain/tabby weave before taking this class. All materials will be provided and students are welcome to bring materials from home. Looms will be available to rent for the duration of the course with a $100 deposit (80% of the deposit will be returned to you upon return of the loom) - this is only required if you would like to take a loom home with you. Looms will be provided for use in class.
