Road Trip to Mushrooms at Witty's Lagoon

Catch a ride on the City of Victoria's Recreation bus and then join CRD Regional Parks naturalists to discover more about fungi in the forest. We'll leave the harvesting to the forest animals and use our eyes to spot different types of mushrooms. Wear sturdy footwear. The start and end of this program includes time for transportation. Trail info: 800m total distance. A steep wide gravel trail near the main parking lot, leading to a narrow trail with tree roots. The surface for the walk itself is a combination of gravel and compact clay-like soil. One bench on route. Accessible pit toilet available near parking lot and Teaching Shelter. Not stroller friendly. Please note: We like pets too. However, their presence can be disruptive for some folks. If you plan to attend this program, please leave pets at home. Guide and service animals are, of course, welcome. Accessibility and Program Notes: • The Recreation Bus does not have a lift available. There is a large step up required to get on the bus.
