Parent and Tot 1/2 (Jellyfish/ Goldfish)

PT1/2: Designed for children aged 4 months to 24 months and one guardian. The Parent and Tot 1 (jellyfish) and 2 (Goldfish) is a split class that works on introducing the water to the participants while also educating guardians on water safety. The classes will be delivered through a variety of games and songs to keep the young ones engaged and curious about the water. Jellyfish: 1. Enter & exit the water safely with tot 2. Readiness for submersion 3. Hold tot on front, eye contact 4. Hold tot on back, head & back support 5. Front float (face out) – assisted 6. Back float – assisted 7. Float wearing PFD – assisted 8. Arms: splashing, reaching, paddling, on front & back 9. Legs: tickling, splashing, kicking, on front & back 10. Water Smart Messages Goldfish: 1. Entry from a sitting position assisted 2. Exit the water–assisted 3. Blow bubbles on & in the water 4. Face wet & in water 5. Attempt to recover object below the surface 6. Entry from a sitting position wearing PFD & return – assisted 7. Front float (face in) – assisted 8. Back float–assisted 9. Kicking on front & back– assisted 10. Surface passes with continuous contact 11. Water Smart Messages *Participants Must Be Within The Age Requirement By The Last Class To Register *Only 1 caregiver in the water with the child. *PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE START AND END DATES. 3 days (72 hours) notice before the first day of the swim lesson is required to receive a credit/refund. Fees will not be reimbursed for absences, including those due to seasonal illness or inclement weather, providing the facility and service remains available to the public. Pro-rated credits may be issued for medical reasons or relocation at the discretion of the program coordinator, with documentation provided.
