Adult Japanese Language & Culture

This program is designed for adults who wish to begin learning the Japanese language and culture. It includes nine 100-minute lessons covering basic Japanese expressions, grammar, an introduction to the Japanese writing systems, and hands-on cultural experiences in Shodō (calligraphy) and Chadō (the way of tea). It is an ideal introductory course for those with no prior experience learning Japanese, as well as those who have studied it in the past and wish to refresh their knowledge. Through language instruction and interactive cultural activities, participants will also gain insights into the essence of traditional Japanese culture. If you have previously taken this course and still have your textbook, you do not need to purchase it again. All new registrations need to pay the $35 Japanese Language Course Textbook fee. Everyone pays the $15 Japanese Language Course Materials fee. Sept. 20 and 27 classes located at Esquimalt Recreation Centre (527 Fraser Street) in the Pioneer A room.
