Play Beyond Expectations

Run by Lifetime Networks - Play Beyond Expectations provides adults with developmental disabilities an opportunity to access inclusive, community-based recreation in an open gym format. This group is a fun and relaxed opportunity to learn different sports and social skills in an environment that welcomes young adults of all levels of functioning ability. Previous experience with sports is not required. This program focusses on enjoyable skill games based on floor hockey, basketball, pickleball and group games tailored to each person’s abilities. Players and volunteers all enjoy the accepting and encouraging atmosphere. The lead volunteers are themselves people who have overcome physical challenges to find success in sports and in life. The improved physical activity, coordination, and cooperation skills gained in the gym transfer to greater success in other activities at home and in the community. Each participant is recognized for their best moment in every session. Each individual success is an opportunity for a group celebration. Come join us for weekly drop in!
